It is common practice for rooms with a better view to be sold at a higher price. If these rooms are configured as separate room types, you will need to configure separate rates for them as well. Otherwise, these supplements are processed as additional charges to bookings.
In our example:
- Rooms with a view are + EUR 50 from the standard price.
Creating the rates
- In the existing rate plan, we create 2 new rates for the double room with a view:
- BB (with breakfast included)
- HB (with breakfast and dinner included)
- In the "Rate Type" field, we select "Derived Amount".
- In the "Derived from" field, we select the respective base rates of the standard double room (BB and HB).
- We select the guarantee policy applicable to these rates.
- We do not activate the "Per Guest" option, as the supplement for the view is fixed for the room, regardless of the number of guests.
- In the "Packages" tab → fill in the required fields.
- In the "Restrictions" tab → set the guest capacity for this room type.
- Save the rates.
Seasons - Prices
- Open the "Seasons" view;
- In the season for each of the new rates, enter 50 (supplement for the view);
- Configure the other room types for which a view supplement applies in the same way.
With these latest rates, we have completed the configuration of prices valid at the reception.
