The base rates we have created describe the prices for bed and breakfast (BB). To add dinner (HB), we will use Derived Amount Rates.
The derived rate is based on an existing one and modifies it by adding or subtracting a fixed amount/percentage.
In our case, we will add a fixed amount for dinner:
- Adult → +50.
- Child over 5 years old → +25.
- Child under 5 years old → 0.
Creating derived rates
To the same rate plan, we add one more rate for each room type;
- In the "Rate type" field, we select "Derived amount rate";
- In the "Derived from" field, we select the corresponding rate with breakfast, because this will be the basis on which we will build;
- Select the guarantee policy applicable to these rates;
- Mark the "Per guest" rate, because the surcharge is different for adults and children.
- In the "Packages" tab, select the appropriate charge template for each rate.
- If you have prepared a rate package that separates the cost of meals, select it in the "Rate package" field.
- If applicable, select the tourist tax mode;
- In the "Boarding" field, select the meals included in the package price - breakfast and dinner;
- In the "Restrictions" tab, we set the parameters to which these rates apply. It is important to note that the restrictions set in the base rates are not transferred to their derivatives.
- We save the rates and move on to entering the prices for the season.
Seasons - surcharges
Please note that surcharges are the same for all room types:
- Adult → +50.
- Child over 5 years old → +25.
This means that the configurations of all derived rates will be the same.
- We open the season for the first room type;
- In the "Price" field, we enter 50 (additional charge for an adult);
- We move on to "Guest levels":
- We add a Child level, age 4 → 0 (small children do not pay extra);
- Child, age 11 → 25 (supplement for older child).
The rate with dinner included for the first room is ready.
Copying the season
Since the surcharges are the same for all rooms, we can copy the settings:
- Open the configured season and click "Copy season".
- Click in the empty cell of the season for the next rate → "Paste season".
- Save the changes.
- Repeat for each subsequent rate.
Your dinner-inclusive rates are ready to use.
