- In the examples we have looked at, we have shown you how to use the rate system tools in Clock PMS+, such as:
- We have created standard/base rates (with breakfast).
- We added Derived amount rates (with surcharges for dinner and view).
- We configured Derived percent rates (WBE, OTA, Corporate).
All prices were built on the base rates "BB Reception". This means that any change in these base rates is automatically reflected in all derived rates.
Important to note:
- Consider carefully whether you want all prices to be linked. If, for example, corporate prices need to be managed independently, do not create them as derivatives of the standard Reception prices. In this case, it is more appropriate to create separate standard rates (with their own guest levels), on which you can then configure derived rates for different board types, surcharges, or discounts.
- In the sample configurations, we have set all Guest levels and Guest Offsets in the season. However, it is possible to configure these settings also at the rate level. This way, the system will apply them automatically for all seasons.
- This approach is appropriate when the reduction or increase is fixed (percentage or amount), the same for all seasons.
- During the season, only the base price is set, and the modifications remain in the rate.
- A mixed option is also possible: the main modifications are set in the rate, and exceptions for specific seasons can be added if necessary.
- Please note that Guest Levels and Guest offsets, set in the Season, take priority over those configured in the rate.
