We would like to inform you about an upcoming change to the way hotel room occupancy is reported in Clock for bookings with early arrival and/or late departure.

What is changing?

Until now, even when a booking was marked with an early arrival or late departure, those days were not counted as occupied when calculating available rooms. This led to potential discrepancies in the actual occupancy of the hotel.

With the upcoming update, this behaviour will be corrected. Early arrivals and late departures will now affect occupancy as follows:

  • Early arrivals will occupy a room for the day before the arrival date.
  • Late departures will occupy a room for the departure date as well.

Example:

If you have a booking from the 2nd to the 5th in a given month, marked with an early arrival and late departure:

  • Until now, occupancy was reported for the 2nd, 3rd and 4th.
  • With the new behaviour, occupancy will also be reported for the 1st (early arrival) and the 5th (late departure) – a total of 5 days.

Where will the change be reflected?

The change will be introduced gradually, as it is already available in the new Room Calendar.

The next stage includes:

  • Web Booking Engine (WBE);
  • Channel managers;
  • Rate and Availability screen;
  • The respective API endpoints;

 If you have any questions or need assistance on this topic, our team will be glad to assist you.
